False Eyelash Extensions

Falsies - Instant Beauty with Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions

Hollywood is full of people who look gorgeous—with and without make-up.

What's their secret? One of them is false eyelashes. Nothing can compare to the instant glam look of falsies.

How amazing would it be to wake up with mascara already applied? In fact, that is what eyelash extensions achieve.

If you constantly apply layers of mascara, your lash line becomes sparse and unhealthy looking. You may be tired of having to wear mascara just to see your lashes show up. If any of this sounds like you, you may want to give these glamorous beauties a try!

Types of Extensions

The Classic

The Classic Eyelash Extension

Single strands of lashes are applied at the base of the lash line.

The more applied, the more dramatic the look. If you already have many lashes, the classic style may be right for you.

This is the most natural style. Others may not know that you have falsies.

The Hybrid

Hybrid Lashes

The Hybrid combines single lashes, and double lashes applied at varying lengths. You can do a light version for a more wispy look to a heavier application that is dramatic.

If someone hasn't seen you in a while, they may not realize that your lashes are not natural, but they will definitely know something is different about you.

Volume

Volume Mink Extensions

All glam. A very trendy and super dramatic look. Volume lashes stand out. They tend to be very dark and curved. Others will know you were not born with these lashes.

Instant VS Manual Strip Lashes

Instant lashes are applied one by one by an esthetician or trained specialist. They are only removed once they fall out. They come in many different styles, lengths, and colors.

Strip lashes are applied with white glue on the lash line. The glue will become transparent when it is dry. Do not wear these while sleeping. They are typically found in a few lengths and styles.

Magnetic lashes are similar to strip lashes but the bond is a black glue with magnets. Magnetic lashes can have a more dramatic effect as the glue will make you look like you are wearing eyeliner. Take them off at night. You will see a few different lengths and styles.

How Long Do Lash Extensions Last?

For most, they last about six weeks. However, depending on the individual, they can last anywhere from 4-8 weeks.

The Eyelash Procedure

Applying Vegan Synthetic Mink Eyelash Extensions

Getting extensions does take time - around an hour. Hybrid will take about an hour and half to 2 hours. And Volume will take the longest between 2 and 3 hours.

With a licensed aesthetician, prices can range from a $100 for a full set of classics to $300 for a full set of volume.

When you are at your appointment you can help pick the style and length you want. Most aestheticians will have black. Most estheticians don’t keep other colors in stock. If you want brown, this is a question you need to ask before placing an appointment. You can also get colors such as blue, purple, pink, or red.

Do not wear makeup to the appointment. If you have allergies or dry or itchy eyes, make sure you use eyedrops before the appointment.

You will need to keep your eyelids closed the whole time.

It's a relatively painless process; it just takes a long time. The esthetician will apply individual lashes with tweezers until a full set is achieved.

The result is stunning. You may not even recognize yourself. Getting used to the new glam look may take a day or two. After that, you will look like you just had mascara applied by a professional makeup artist.

Lash extension aftercare

  • Do not get white lashes wet for 24 hours after your appointment. (So do not swim or go in a hot tub or anywhere with steam)
  • Always blot, avoid rubbing, touching or pulling on the individual lashes
  • Only wear oil-free makeup next to the lash line
  • Only use oil-free makeup remover products
  • Do not use an eyelash curler
  • Never use waterproof mascara
  • After showering, gently from blot your lashes dry

Clean and wash the lashes only with safe shampoo at least 2 to 3 times per week. If needed, apply a lash serum for healthier lashes.

You will want to sleep on your back side if possible. If you are a side sleeper, keep your lashes off the pillow. In fact, try using a silk pillowcase.

It is super important for both the health and retention of your lashes to keep them clean.

If you get water drops that puddle, blot off excess water, and fluff with your magic wand. "Fluff" means making them wispy again by brushing them with a dry mascara wand.

They will fall out over time until gone. For me, they fell out constantly. I lost at least ten individual lashes within the first 24 hours.

In fact, b y the first week, I looked like I already needed a fill. So at the next appointment, the esthetician changed the length and placement in some areas so that I retained more of the lashes over time.

Lash Maintenance

When appropriately applied, they will not ruin the eyelashes that you already have. Fill your eyelash extensionsevery 2 to 4 weeks. That number will depend on how careful you are with the eyelashes.

If you tug and pull on them, even when you sleep, they will fall out more often. This means you will need to get them filled more often. It typically costs between $40 to $80 per fill.

The Eyelash Extension Specialist

Finding the right person is essential. First, you should locate a licensed esthetician or an eyelash extension specialist who has attended school and special training.

Tweezer Tool for Lash Extensions

Some aestheticians own their own spa and do other services like facials, microdermabrasion, teeth whitening, and chemical peels. Others mainly do only lashes and brows.

This person should be compatible with you - a good fit. You need someone who will listen to you and your needs. They should explain the process thoroughly, including aftercare best practices.

Further, to get the most retention out of your lashes, you must know what you should and should not do to keep your lashes healthy and looking their best.

You must schedule your touchup every 2 to 3 weeks with an aesthetician and an eyelash extension specialist who have taken special classes.

If you decide that the eyelash extensions are not suitable for you, the removal of lashes should only be done by your lash stylist.

Peptides for Healthy Eyelashes and Eyebrows

Using a lash serum will help extend the life of your eyelashes and eyebrows. You can easily create your own in just a few minutes.

Add the Love Them Lashes Base to a Pyrex bowl or similar. Then add the peptides. Mix all ingredients in a glass vessel. Finally, pour into a vial or airless container.

Variations:

Use GHK Copper Peptide, Phytocell Tec Malus Domestica, Biotin, or Vitamin B5.

Directions on how to use:

Apply to the brow and lash line with an eyeliner brush or wand.

Are Eyelash Extensions Worth the Cost and Maintenance?

The bottomline is that they are beautiful. They can make your eyes stand out and become your best feature. But beauty comes with a price. Keeping your lashes healthy and looking their best takes time and maintenance. Not to mention it isn't cheap.

If you are willing to put the effort in, having eyelash extensions makes waking up in the morning effortless. You will always look like you are wearing mascara—purely instant natural beauty.
