Whole Foods Market
Whole Foods Market has announced that it will require all genetically engineered foods to be labeled by 2018. With the new labeling, you will know if a company uses genetically modified food.
Currently, Whole Foods Market (WFM) already carries over 3,000 products that are not genetically engineered.
Whole Foods encourages manufacturers to step up and either change and not use genetically modified ingredients or be transparent in their labeling.
It is a huge step, and Whole Foods recognizes this by giving companies five years to meet the requirements. It is a move in the right direction; we should know what we are buying after all.
