How To Make Your Own Organic Beauty Treatments Using Milk
Organic Milk Beauty Treatments
Are you aware that milk is a fantastic skincare ingredient? That's right; this ancient beauty secret is rich in AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids), which promote exfoliation. In addition, lactic acid is a natural skin exfoliant. It's also a fantastic anti-inflammatory.
Milk also has high levels of Vitamin A, D, and E. So seeing as this wonder ingredient is probably sitting in your fridge already, why don't you give a few of these recipes a whirl:
Gentle Cleanser
This gentle Oatmeal Cleanser is also an excellent alternative to harsh soap.
Ingredients:
- 1 c. Whole Organic Milk or Soymilk
- 1⁄2 c. Whole Organic Oats
- 1 Tbs. Organic Honey
Directions:
- Mix all of the parts for at least 2 minutes. The mixture should have a creamy consistency.
- Then, with a funnel, pour the mixture into an air-tight container.
- Finally, store in the refrigerator.
To use: Place a small amount in the palm of your hand, then gently massage it into your skin. Use lukewarm water to rinse and pat dry.
Milk and Honey Bath Soak
Ingredients:
- 2 c. organic milk
- 2 Tbs. organic honey
Directions:
- Pour both milk and honey into a warm bath before stepping into the water.
- Soak for at least 20 minutes. Enjoy!
Milk and Honey Facial Scrub
Ingredients:
- 3 Tbs. organic milk (choose whole milk for drier skin)
- 3 Tbs. organic honey
- 1 tsp. raw organic oatmeal crumbled
Directions:
- Blend the ingredients for about 2 minutes. A thick paste should form.
- Then, massage a small amount on a freshly washed face for about a minute.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and dab dry.
Nail Strengthener
Ingredients:
- 1 c. organic milk
- Microwave-safe bowl
Directions:
- In your microwave, place the liquid in the bowl and heat it on high for 30 seconds. Ensure it does not boil/burn (you'll notice a funky smell). It should smell sweet and be warm to the touch.
- After washing your hands, dry them off with a towel and place your fingers/hands in the bowl of milk.
- Leave them there for 5 minutes.
- After you finish, your nails will be stronger. In fact, they will look beautiful, glossy, and your hands will be softer.
Milk Makeup Remover
Ingredients:
- Almond Oil
- Whole Organic Milk
Directions:
- In a glass vessel, add a few drops of almond oil.
- With a cotton ball, apply to the face.
- Remove with a fresh cotton ball.
- Then rinse your face with lukewarm water.
