Lush Inspired bath bomb
Lush fresh skincare is known for there amazing bath bombs. One of their best-selling bath bombs is called Twilight. It has a very calming aroma with Lavender and Ylang Ylang.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Baking Soda
- 1 ounce Citric Acid
- 1 ounce Cream of Tartar
- 1/8 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil
- 1/8 teaspoon Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
- 1/8 teaspoon Vanilla Essential Oil
- 1/4 ounce Cocoa Butter
- 1/8 teaspoon Water
- 1/4 teaspoon red food coloring
- 1/4 teaspoon blue food coloring
- 1 teaspoon cosmetic grade glitter (optional)
Add the baking soda and Cream of Tartar to a glass bowl and mix. Next, heat the cocoa butter in the microwave at 15-30 second intervals until melted. Add to the mixture and stir. Finally, add the Citric Acid (add at the end to ensure fizzing doesn't occur in your bowl).
Split the mixture into three bowls. Add the red food coloring to one bowl and stir. Add drops one by one until your mix is pink.
For the second bowl, add the blue essential oil as above.
For the third bowl, add the glitter.
Make the bath bomb mixture following the basic instructions above. Next, take your pink blend and separate 1/3 into an additional bowl. In this bowl, with the 1/3 mixture, add the glittery stars and mix.
Take your stainless steel mold and make a pinch pot with the pink mixture on each side. Next, fill the inside of the shell with purple glitter mix. The purple glitter mix can be made by adding a small amount of the blue, pink, and glitter combination and blending. The purple mixture doesn't need to be a perfect purple. Have fun with swirls and other textures you can create without thoroughly mixing them. Use water to spray each side of the mold. Then, place the two sides of the mold together and let dry for 48-72 hours.
